Great Family Trail

It is paved and traverses not only downtown but along the Boardman River and then connects to the Leelanau Trail.

We adore the TART Trail! We ride Traverse City to Suttons Bay and back several times a year. It has a great combination of urban and backwoods! The volunteers that maintain the trail are incredible too!

Used it to connect to Lelanau Trail which we rode to Sutton's Bay. Well marked and in good condition.

Enjoyed rising multiple TART trails around the Traverse Area. Rode three different routes (Leelanau, Boardman, and Cross Town) which offered variety of terrain, scenic views, and good rides.

This trail is any cities dream. It's just too bad not every city can have a recreational trail like this. The trail is paved and smooth. The scenery is gorgeous, as it meanders through the woods, alongside parks rivers and the Grand Traverse Bay. It will get you from East Bay to West Bay and beyond to Suttons Bay. The... More

The TART system of trails around the bays of Traverse City is really unsurpassed when it comes to great riding on paved trails, beautiful vistas of the city, country and waterfront, and lots of places to eat and drink along the way. Didn't bring your bike? No worry, there are a number of bike shops that rent all shapes and... More

This is a trail that goes all around the Traverse City area. It has nice shorefront, lakefront, town, and wooded views. Good for walking on, with varied scenery.

OMG, where do I start? We took the opportunity to ride the Leelanau Trail from Sutton's Bay to Traverse City for a total of 18 Miles. We rode the 'Bike and Ride' up to SB, and rode back.....what a wonderful idea! You can ride one way on bicycle and take the bus back to where you started, we just did... More

We really liked the area between Traverse City and Sutton's Bay, but the area inside Traverse City was too far away from the water and didn't have any views.

This is a really cool fixture in the area. I would highly recommend biking some portion of this trail if you can! You have the option of traveling as far as you like and there are so many great places along the route. And there are several places to rent a bike if you want to do a self-guided ride!
