A good place to spend an hour or more. The shop is nice and the museum has good authentic dioramas of Michigan nature. The proprietor is knowledgable in her craft of taxidermy. She and her husband are true artists. The arrowhead display is massive and well displayed. Good for kids in 2nd grade and up. Her hollyhocks are beautiful!

This was a hoot! We've driven by a hundred times and decided to stop in. The taxidermy exhibits are so much fun to see. Very educational if you've got kids with you. The gift shop is loaded with the type of "up north" kind of products that you used to see all over in the old days - moccasins, Petoskey... More

The woman working there was quite knowledgeable and extremely friendly. They had lots of interesting stuff for sale. The museum was nice and it was free of charge, but they accept donations...Nice unique experience. Would recommend.

Stumbled on this shop because of the outdoor Rhino Petosky Painted sculpture. The shop is dated and on the outside but it's a treasure trove of artifacts and taxidermy. The owner shares knowledge like a parent would to a child. Everything you see and touch has a story in the museums part. Favorite part was being able to actually touch... More

We had a great time visiting this store/musuem. It was very interesting and my animal-loving 5 year old son loved it all, especially the Lion. The displays were realistic with an eclectic collection of wildlife. It was fun for all ages and cheap entertainment for the family. My 1 year old daughter even enjoyed herself and got an adorable hot... More

Guntzviller's store is great -- full of moccasins and other really nice Minnetonka items. If you go through a doorway, you enter the museum. It's bigger than it appears from the outside. There are many native Michigan species featured, but also many other animals. They are displayed in realistic settings with information available for each. It's a good way to... More

What a surprising find! We have a summer home in Traverse City and drive past this place all the time. It looks like an odd taxidermy/souvenir (odd combo) shop that sells Minnetonka Moccasins so we never stopped, until yesterday. It was amazing! We don't hunt or fish but the wildlife they have are both museum quality and beautifully displayed. Full... More
