In 1967, before the statue was in place I was taking a bus to Minneapolis/St. Paul to return home to Ohio for Christmas. I know the date, December 15, 1967 because that was the date the bridge across the Ohio River collapsed and 46 people...More

Worth a quick stop to see plus there is a DQ for food/drink/rest stop. Right off of I-90 and US 169.

Right off of I-90. If you are driving by, you MUST stop! Stretch your legs and pose for the great photo ops.

It's just a big green statue. But it is a super short drive off the freeway and just a fun place to stop, stretch the legs and take some photos!

Looking for a place for breakfast. Pulled off at the town of Blue Earth. With a name like that, we had to look. Just a bit south off the freeway we spotted the Jolly Green Giant in a little, quiet park beside the highway. He...More

I remember the giant from commercials when I was a little girl in the 60's. So I definitely wanted to see it. I got there to late to go in the museum which closes at 3 Monday-Friday. It was still a sight to see.

This was a perfect mid-stop to Austin. Get out and stretch, read the various markers, and take a pic or two of the Jolly Green Giant, and before you think it's silly, think about it. Wheee else will you have an opportunity to see something...More
