Use your cell phone/internet ahead of time to plan your visit to Canal Park when cargo ships are arriving or departing. The Lift Bridge is an amazing piece of engineering! If you choose to walk across, be prepared to sprint if the bells start ringing...More

We have seen the bridge a ton of times but I don't think I've ever seen them raise it. The kids were fascinated and the views are picturesque. Water is soothing, but the industrial applications here are pretty interesting.

This is a MUST SEE when visiting Duluth! The history behind the bridge is fascinating. View ships, seagulls, people, Lake Walk and beautiful Lake Superior. Remember to tour the museum for the history.

I have always loved the aerial lift bridge. This year we went under it on the Vista Fleet. Love hearing the whistles as boat enter and leave the harbor.

A visit to the Duluth Canal Waterfront is not complete without visiting the area that includes this bridge ... and visit the park area and Army corps of Engineers building at its Duluth end

This is a good place to eat, and there is a lot of history in mainly the top floor of the building. I don't remember if they take reservations, but think so. Strongly recommend calling them at Grandma’s - Canal Park 522... More
