Was windy and we got to see some large waves coming in. The sand is great. May be a little hard to walk through for some people.

It is beautiful. Sea grass and sand dunes and quiet. There is a changing area if needed. Lots of parking. There is a trail through the woods to a quiet section of beach. It's a great place to look for drift wood and enjoy nature.

Been traveling in the area for a few days and this was the first beach we have found that wasn't all rock. Nice sandy beach that our dog loved.

Came here in September, so we were just walking the beach and not intending to swim as it was obviously too cold. But it was a nice decent size beach that would be great in mid summer, but still a nice walk in Sept.

To get up close you will need tickets. Check the festival website. This is a HUGE event in Duluth, so be prepared to stand on line for many things. Where the ships are, there is very little shade, so you might consider... More
