We happened to be here right after a rain storm. As it happened the rainbow went from one side to the other. Good spot for a walk on the beach.

We were just driving around one afternoon, and found this spot. Really a hidden treasure if you are visiting Duluth and don't know the area. The lake and the beach were very nice. Easy parking. The lilacs were in bloom when we were in Duluth,...More

Great walking beach- very clean and the natural beauty is breathtaking. We met several locals that were charming and kind.

My mom grew up in Duluth in the 1920's & 30's and always talked about going to Park Point Beach as a child. Whenever I get up to Duluth, I have to go to the beach so I can put my toes in the same...More

We LOVED spending time on this beach. It was pretty clean, and there was plenty of room for everyone. Naturally, there is no admission and there is a park nearby. The water was too cold for us, but there were those brave souls who dared...More

This is a great place to relax, enjoy the view, and even swim if you can believe that! The water is colder than most people like so I only swim there on the hottest of summer days but on those days it's perfect! The sand...More

I was ecstatic to see the fine sand at this beach but the sand can be very hot during warm days. You can't walk barefoot on it unless your walking by the water. Lots of things to do outdoors here if you don't like sun...More

I was stationed at Duluth IAP in 1977. We use to go smelting at Park Point every year. Does the lake still produce smelt at Park Point?

I know they were smelting there as of 2014......but it does seem better around Lester River and other rivers up the North Shore.

To get up close you will need tickets. Check the festival website. This is a HUGE event in Duluth, so be prepared to stand on line for many things. Where the ships are, there is very little shade, so you might consider... More
