This center is very well laid out. From the many exhibits to the wonderful movie "The Bear Walker" to the amazing staff it was a fantastic experience. We spent quite a long time just watching the bears come and go in their habitat. Lucky spent a long time just frolicking and playing with a log on the pond. We will... More

These folks do wonderful work in educating people about Bears. The videos and pictures are amazing. Their 4 Ambassador Bears are kept in, as close to real habitat as possible. This isn't a zoo, but you can't leave here without learning a lot about animals.

My first time to the bear center was really cool. It's a pretty big place with tons of things to look at and read. The actual bears were cool too! We got to go out to their pens and visit them one by one and hear facts about them which was very interesting. My favorite thing to look at were... More

We visited the center today for the first time, even though we live fairly nearby. We saw each of the live bears in their habitat, as well as read and looked at all of the exhibits. As bear hunters, we are actually quite knowledgeable about black bears, yet we learned a few things and really enjoyed the overall presentation!

In this time of extreme human arrogance toward nature and animals, a place like this goes a long way toward educating visitors about the ecosystem of the forests, bears in particular, and the importance of not making bears *pets* (!!!). Whatever the controversies about this place (sigh, cf. humans) it's a very important place and a complement to the (overrated)... More

If you have any interest in black bears, NABC is the place to go. Tons of educations exhibits sharing the many years of research by Dr. Lynn Rogers dispelling many of the false rumors about black bears. NABC also has live bears in a several acre enclosure and have feeding shows so you can observe them from above. Love this... More

I love the bears and visit every time we are in Ely. The new educational center is a great addition to the facility.

This exhibit is fairly new--built within the last couple of years. The main building is fascinating. You can oo0 and aaH a lot while exploring this well maintained building. Lots to see and do. The bears are well cared for as if they are out in the wild. Enclosed in acres not cages. Climb up the stairs to the second... More
