Not too well kept up. There are a couple short trails one with a fallen tree in the way and some memorial rocks and other information about the former Senator. The trail to the crash site is overgrown and probably full of ticks and mosquitos...More
I visit here quite often. It's always quiet here in the middle of the woods. The site is a short 3 mile drive off of US 53. It's easy to miss because the signage is minimal. The walking path has great info on the life...More
Very pretty setting and contemplative. Kind of eerie when you get close to the site. I do wish to the trail went closer to the ceash site. You can stand about 2000 feet from the actual site where the plane went down. You can see...More
I always stop here when I am on the Range. It is beautifully constructed with signs about PW and seating at various areas as you walk through the forest. Tributes to his family and staff who died as well. Very moving.
Don't expect anything fancy... the Wellstone Memorial is simple and unadorned. It is beautiful and a nice place for reflection on the life of those lost. Tucked into a wooded area near the crash site, each person who died that day is represented with a...More

Located near the crash site, but down the road from where it actually happened, nice memorial to the victims of that tragic day (nothing on the crew when I was there), to learn more about the Senator, you will still need to research on your...More
Whether his politics fit your ideological profile or not, there was something eminently admirable about Wellstone, who was the closest thing in our lifetimes we have seen to Mister Smith going to Washington. There is a lot at his memorial site that is powerful, including...More
We stopped off after seeing the sign on the Highway and are glad we did. This memorial was very well done and a fitting tribute to Paul Wellstone, his wife, daughter and staff members. What a tragic loss for our nation.
