The falls are nice, but it is a more scenic view from below. Hidden downstream are the ruins of an old mill that burned down on Christmas in the 1800s. Also recommend the old railroad treadle bridge over the river.

The fall is only 100 feet from the parking lot and connected to several well paved trails . It is next to a factory and they have left some of the old sprockets where a water mill used to be.

My fiancé and I went to vermillion falls with the intention to spend the afternoon hanging out in our hammocks, listening to music, exploring trails, and watching a glorious water fall. We were disappointed by the lack of trees to hang our hammocks from and...More

These are small falls and fun to watch on a warm sunny day. Small park for kids to run around in. The river winds around the city of Hastings before it gets to this spot. Parking is close by.

Nice trail to the Falls. Short but worth it. Not a long walk from parking lot to the Falls but if you are unsteady on your feet, it may be a bit of a challenge.

I'm not certain you can "get under the falls" anymore. My brother works at the mill and he said some of the trails have been closed due to safety. We stayed at the hotel across the street so we walker under the bridge to... More

If you don't have a car available Applebee's is across the street and you can walk under the bridge. We stayed at the hotel next to Applebee's and walked to the falls.

It used to be owned by ConAgra. I don't know if it still is but up until recently it was owned by them. I know it is still in use.
