If you are like us and didn't know much about the Amish, take this tour. Joan was our tour guide and was excellent. We went to several Amish farms and were able to meet the people and purchase items from them if we wanted to, no pressure. Joan is full of information regarding Amish history and their lifestyle today. We... More

Took this tour on Sept. 17th,2016 with Joan as our tour guide in a very comfortable and clean mini bus. Joan said she has been doing this for 9 years and she really knows the Amish people, most of them personally. She explained their complete history and we learned quite a bit. The 3 hour tour went very fast and... More

We really enjoyed this tour, and especially Joan's knowledge of both the Amish in general, and of the specific people we visited.

This was a fascinating tour of Amish country. We had no idea what to expect, but really enjoyed it! Our tour guide, Joan, personally knows many of the Amish families and was able to tell us so much about the farms we stopped at. She let us take our time shopping at the stops and we didn't leave until everyone... More

PROS: -Joan, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and had a neat working relationship with the Amish -Each stop was progressively better than the one before -Even though it was three hours long, it never got boring -We learned a ton about the Amish, their beliefs, their lives, and their traditions -Nut butter crunch was amazing - plant to buy this... In our many trips to Lanesboro, I have resisted the Amish tour operating at the Stone Mill Suites (where we stay). I was reluctant to become a cultural gawker, intruding on others' privacy. But, my wife has wanted to go, so I finally gave in. I was pleasantly surprised. Much of that has to do with Joan, the tour operator.... More

If you want to get history and see amish ways of life this tour was wonderful. We stopped at 5 amish farms. Each place we stopped the driver knew the family. The bakery was so good. My favorite stop had to be at the last farm. We talked to Frannie, who let us see her kitchen. Go on tour dont... More

We took a Saturday morning tour and found it to be a very well organized, knowledgeable, and authentic tour of the Amish farms, shops, and homes of the area. What I found most impressive is that Joan truly knew the people we were visiting and had real relationships with them. This made all the difference and really made the tour... More
