There are two campsites available, (also group sites) with showers and flush toilets, some sites have electric plug ins. The Riverside camp is by the St. Croix river, with a wooded trail along the river, the other, Savannah, is more wide open, with trails through more of a prairie/swampy area. There is little privacy though at each camping area. Nevertheless, the... More

Me and my fiancé decided to go here for a day trip in September with our pup. It was a wonderful, serene place with great scenery. The trails were good, and there did not seem to be many people around, when compared to the close-by Interstate State Park. The scenery might be less dramatic but the park has a very... More

Lots to do at this park. One of the largest of the MN State Parks for camping. There are wonderful groomed trails to hike. All the way from the easier set up for handicapped to the more rugged trails up and down hills for a good workout. There is a major paved bike trail that runs thru the park that could... More

We visit this campground frequently, summer and fall! You can use a camper with electric or use a tent with rustic facilities. The lower campground is very close to the river. Last time we were there an eagle swooped down in front of us and snatched up a fish from the river. There are miles of easy walking/hiking trails, clean... More

We spent an impromptu 24 hours at William O'Brien State Park during the Labor Day weekend (2016). Here are a few tips and recommendations: If you're tent camping, try to reserve campsite 47 in the Riverway Campground area. There are two campgrounds (Riverway and Savannah). We were lucky enough to reserve site 47, which is near the St. Croix River... More

We stayed 2 nights with a family visiting U.S. and camping for the first time. Had a very nice time. Took beautiful walks along the river, children caught a lot of fish and the campsite/facilities were very nice. However, one night young people at one campsite got really drunk - loud swearing, dogs got loose and were chased around the... More

Beautiful park, we feel 1,500 miles away from home but live 1 hour away. 2 campgrounds with spacious sites. Bike to Marine on St Croix.

The main reason for our trip to the park was for a little biking...first biking of the season so we were still checking out the bikes and making sure they were functional. We knew from the map that there wasn't much biking actually in the park (the trail through the park is one of the state trails). We only rode... More

My wife and I visited a few time to do some day hiking. They have very nice hiking, skiing and shoeshoeing trails although this winters lack of snow made for a short season. The trails are all well marked and offer quite a variety of levels of challenge. It is a state park so you need either an annual pass... More
