The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is closed for renovation, and will reopen in June 2017. One of the crown jewels of the city’s park system, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden unites two of Minnesota’s most cherished resources—its greenspace and its cultural life. A partnership with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, the Garden is a top destination for tourists to enjoy art like the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry in an outdoor park setting.

The park was fenced off while we were there at the end of May. There was a huge politically incorrect installation that was causing a citywide fuss and there were a lot of protestors. Hopefully, all the construction and chaos is done by now. It...More

We live in Minneapolis and go to the sculpture garden a few times every summer. It's always a fun walk around the sculptures and beautiful to see over and over.

We went in late May 2017, right before they were to reopen (Beginning of June.) There was construction everywhere (orange construction netting completely around the park.) We did happen to find a ball field close to it. My husband climbed on the bleachers and zoomed...More

The newly reopened sculpture garden is beautiful. The Spoonbridge and Cherry is still there and still prominent. Along with the spoon are a giant blue rooster and a horse made of sticks that aren't sticks at all, amongst numerous other pieces. The sculpture garden is...More

You can't search Minneapolis without finding the Spoon and Cherry! Newly refurbished only re-opened at the beginning of June 2017. It seems a little barren at the moment because the plants need time to grow but so far I really like what they've done with...More

Having been here twenty year ago, I expected for the garden to be fantastic as the first time. Especially considering the recent renovation. Yet, it is at least 1-2 years away from the plantings to fully bloom and truly be part of the garden. It...More

Although you will see many younger folks buzzing through (not understanding) stop and read the plaques. They tell you a lot. After the spoon, the bell was really cool. It actually swings on the hour. Enjoy the art. It is really easy to walk around...More

Quirky, visually entertaining, thought provoking open air sculpture park near downtown. Puppet theater for kids. Make sure to read the sayings carved into the marble benches.
