TRP, as it is known to actors in the area, is a great and reputable venue with 3-5 star level productions in their 60+ years. I have never walked away thinking it was a waste of time; the casting is usually high-level and the direction tends to be the same. There's always a dud here or there but no complaints--plenty... I have partial season tickets so enjoy five plays there each year. There is always an Agatha Christie mystery which is my favorite. The plays are performed in the round so there is never a bad seat, may be a little off to one side but that's OK. This is an community theatre but the talent is superb. Have seen... More

Saw "The Secret Garden" on opening night. The actors did a fabulous job and it was even more impressive to me because half the actors were under 18 years old. There isn't a bad seat in the place. With limited space, they really can get the point across on what is happening in the story.

We just saw The Secret Garden here and it was really great. I have always loved the story and they did a great job of the performance. I have been here a lot and I really like the place. You are so close to the actors. All the actors did a good job but especially Caitlyn Carroll. Her English accent... More

While visiting Minneapolis on spring break I was looking for something different to do with my daughter. A Secret Garden was playing at the Theatre in the Round so we got tickets to the opening night performance. It was a wonderful production! One of the best performances I have seen in awhile. Sitting so close to the actors really makes... More

Theatre in the Round is just that, an arena stage with seating on all sides. Although billed as a community theater, it consistently produces high quality productions at a bargain ticket price. The theatre is located on the Minneapolis West Bank near several good restaurants for a complete evening out.

My husband and I went and saw Anne of Green Gables. It was FANTASTIC! Honestly, he was not too sure. It is one of my all time favorite books, so he took a chance with me :) We had never been to this theatre. How it is laid out is super, there is a not a bad seat in the... More

We have seen a number of plays here and always enjoy it. It's only $22 and we can always get in at the last minute. So if your looking for something to do on a weekend try here. The stage is square and the audience completely surrounds it looking down. I think it allows for more natural blocking and movement... More

This was our first time at this theater. We really enjoyed the small, intimate setting (only about 6 rows of seats surrounding the stage). As a shorter person, I really appreciated the steepness of the seating so everyone could see well. They refer to themselves as the oldest community theater in the Twin Cities. although that may be true the... More
