Was jogging the lakes during a recent warm day and ran into a number of people doing the exact same thing. Decided to get a bite and a beer nearby. Great spot in the summer to tour the lakes by foot, bike, or canoe rental

There are so many ways to enjoy the lakes -- people watching, eating a fish taco, sailing, canoeing, biking, ice skating, swimming, fishing, just lying under a tree. There's a reason Minneapolis is called the City of Lakes, and it's not because the lakes are...More

Been around the loop many times. Calhoun is the busiest and the youngest of the crowds. Love Lake Harriet, quiet and peaceful with several beach options, food in the summer. Lake of the Isles is great too, much more quiet than Calhoun and is surrounded...More

Oh yes, in the summer, anywhere that has a patio allows dogs, and will offer water for them, lots of people run and bike with their dogs, there's a dog park over by Cedar Lake too - it's not big, but lots of shade.
