The Museum of Russian Art is the only museum in North America devoted to preserving and presenting all forms of Russian art and artifacts. Housed in a beautifully renovated historic building, the Museum’s multi-level galleries provide a tranquil and intimate setting for TMORA’s exhibitions and educational events. Now on view: Women in Soviet Art: focusing on the representation and self-representation of women in Soviet art, this exhibition explores the roles and perspectives of women under the Soviet system from the 1950s–1980s.Jewish Life in the Russian Empire: Exhibited for the first time in 1867 at the seminal ethnographic exhibit in Moscow, the photographs depict a unique record of Jewish life in Tsarist Russia. It tells the story of Jewish communities within the Pale of Settlement, a region where permanent residency of Jewish peoples was allowed. Jewish Life in the Russian Empire will be on display in the lower gallery.

Glad I went, I took an uber as it isn't nearby the light rail. I went to see their Faberge Collection but a new exhibit had just opened which I LOVED - the Siege of Leningrad - a collection of lithographs, posters, etc. It was really good `and fascinating!

A small church in south Minneapolis has been converted into a one of a kind museum. The exhibits regularly change and I have never been disappointed with the art or exhibitions. I always learn something new.

This weekend, I visited the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis. The museum, is rather small, with only four galleries, and hosts a rotating collection of Russian art. When I was there, the current exhibitions were “Stage Designs by Vera Mednikova: From Pushkin to Hawthorne”, “Art of Valerian Formozov: Visions of the Russian Heartland”, “Unknown Fabergé: New Finds and Re-Discoveries”,... I would have never wandered in here myself, but a friend said she always wanted to check this place out. Entrance is very affordable ($7 or $8) and there are 3 floors of exhibits going that get rotated out for new featured artists every few months. Faberge was one of the featured while we were there and Faberge goes way... More

Although the museum is small, it always had top notch exhibits from Ukrainian artist to displays of the Czar's china. Buying a membership is a good value. The gift shop has many beautiful and different items.

Really enjoy this museum every time we go. The building is beautiful and well organized so you can walk down the middle and see three floors of art. Also has one of the larger and more interesting gift shops. Parking is easy and plentiful across the street.

The Museum of Russian Art features more than one floor of amazing art done by Painters from Russia. There are 3 floors and an elevator if needed. If possible, take a tour from on of their very informed docents. Do NOT miss the gift shop-very unique!

My sister and I went to see the Faberge collection currently on display. Beautiful items that are not often seen. We totally enjoyed looking at the exquisite items make for the aristocracy back in the day. We also viewed the display of the czar/czarina pictures, the Christmas display in the lower level and, of course, the lovely impressionistic paintings of... More
