We attended a service here recently and this was the first time for me despite living in the area for about fifteen years. The structure is impressive and the interior is just beautiful - lots of ornate stained glass, big altar, statues and impressive dome....More

My wife and I attended Sunday Mass at this beautiful church, the Priest offered anyone attending mass to hang around for a tour of the Basilica. Tour was nice to learn about the history and how this congregation welcomes all.

After years of driving by and talking about stopping we finally did. It was early on a cold Saturday morning. We opened the doors an entered the warm and inviting space. We were impressed with the workmanship of the building and everything inside. We were...More

This magnificent church, designed by famed architect, Masqueray, is not to be missed and was recently named a national treasure. While it is best seen during a liturgy, it is a wonderful place in which to wander - but visitors can also find vergers ready...More

We visited this place and the Cathedral of Saint Paul in the same day. The Cathedral of Saint Paul is definitely bigger, but the Basilica of Saint Mary is very astounding in its' own right. I would definitely recommend visiting just for the architecture.

We had no trouble finding parking, even though we went on a Sunday afternoon. There was a great view of Saint Paul when we climb the steps in the front. In conclusion it was a beautiful visit and I will be going back again when...More

If you appreciate the beauty of Romanesque architecture, stained glass windows, tradition of the Catholic worship, a must to include in your trip to Minneapolis. High Mass is inspirational.

We recently saw the Messiah performed here by the St Paul Chamber Orchestra. What a perfect setting for this. The cathedral is not overly massive, but has amazing detail and in beautifully balanced. We'd recently been to Notre Dame in Paris, and this seems like...More
