This is one of my favorite places to go for a walk in the summer, however if it is a "nice" winter day it is worth it. The walk around the lake is is about 2.5 miles and you get to take in a great view of nature and some amazing houses.

This park not only shines in the summer but in winter too! We visited on a nice crisp winter weekend, We took advantage of the outdoor skating but there were plenty of people walking the lake, cross country skiing and having a romp with their dogs at the dog park. The skating area has a hockey rink in the center... More

During the summer it is very pretty and fun, but during the winter it is very cold and frustrating. Yes.

My favorite place for walking/running/x-country skiing. There is also a warming hut in the winter with a groomed ice-skating rink.

This is a beautiful lake in Minneapolis's chain of lakes. Here there is no swimming beach, but you can rent a canoe at Lake Calhoun (has beaches) to the south and paddle around the islands, then take the channel to Cedar Lake (beaches here also). Of the three, Lake of the Isles is the quieter option. The shoreline has nice... More

This past Sunday was an unseasonably warm and sunny day in Minneapolis and I chose to spend the afternoon on the Lake of the Isles. I would have loved to walk around all of the lakes (Chain of Lakes) but only had time for one. After reading reviews, I decided I would enjoy Lake of the Isles best and the... More

With above normal temperatures for November, it was an excellent day to walk around Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. This is a must see destination when you are in Minneapolis.

This 2.5 mile walk around the lake is good in all seasons--especially now in the fall. Great people watching

Gorgeous little area hidden in the city! Small islands in a lake filled with canoes, kayaks, and ducks. Run, walk, or bike around the 2.5 perimeter and enjoy the lovely homes and well manicured lawns.
