I'd never seen a Glockenspiel before, but had an idea after reading reviews on TA. When the door opened and the figures slid out, I was delighted! We watched them circle around for their 10 minute show, until they retired once more behind the door. To understand the whole story, there's a sign that describes what each figure represents. I... The whole performance lasts about 10 minutes, and it happens at noon, 3pm and 5pm each day. Having never seen another Glockenspiel, and having nothing to compare it to, I enjoyed it. If I lived within 2 blocks, I would lose my mind.

If you can, take the 15 minute break to listen to the bell carols and watch the carved wooden statues move and dance while the music plays. A unique and uncommon way to experience German heritage in the USA.

We went for the 5:00 - 5:10 pm playing of the chimes, the show was of the hidden people inside!! The music is lovely and watching the different people moving around up at the top, was very enjoyable!

I have seen other glockenspiels and this one was disappointing. My wife amd I got there about 10 minutes before the hour and it was not worth the wait.

If you are sightseeing in New Ulm, this is a must see. Situated in an attractive park on the north end of downtown, this is a visually attractive clock tower with brick pavers and lovely flowers. The glockenspiel plays a musical bell concert at 12, 3, and 5 p.m.. The 45-foot carillon commemorates the German roots of the city.

The glockenspiel plays music/ bells on certain times of the day and has some "dancers" that come out. There is a little seating area to watch. Cute and quirky little german tradition.

The times to see the figures are 12, 3. and 5 PM. The figures come out for about 10 minutes so it is a quick stop.

The Glockenspiel was part of our city tour when visiting New Ulm. The performances are are at noon and 3:00 pm. Very entertaining and great spot for a group picture.
