A pretty man-made lake that once had warm water fed into it in the winter keeping 1,000's of geese on it all year around. There are peddle boats and canoes available to rent and a very nice 2 mile walk around lake.

Rode my bike along the river to Silver Lake on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It is a very pretty area with bike, kayak and other small boat rentals. It has a nice picnic area as well/ Lots of geese to keep you company!

Many people, walk, ride and rollerblade around this lake, but everyone is very courteous and friendly. The length of the walking trail allows it not to feel crowded. A very enjoyable walk.

Yes, they are scheduled to dredge the lake starting this fall. Part of the reason is to improves drainage. A lot of storm runoff goes into this lake and has caused a rise in water level and some flooding.

No cabins. It's not the kind of lake that you vacation on, or fish on. It's more of a side attraction, actually, that you enjoy while you are in Rochester for some other event. Definitely not a lake to build a vacation... More
