This is a beautiful place to visit in the spring and summer when the gardens are in bloom. Even when the house is not open for tours you can walk around the ground, great place for pictures and a picnic. You can rent the house for events. Dr, Plumber wanted to be an architect but his parents wanted him to... More

I had read that this was not available to tour inside, unless you schedule a private group function or tour, later in the year. We went up to the grounds, because you can walk the trails in the gardens and around the exterior of the home. It was late afternoon and cool. The trails were muddy and moist, but the... More

I had relatives visiting and wanted to show off some of the Rochester history as this is a fine example of historical wealth and privilege. This is a very beautiful mansion high on a hilltop with lovely grounds. I have been here a half dozen times, but the mansion itself has NEVER been open, consequently I know very little about... It is a beautiful place to go visit, even for locals! I love to take my kids there for pictures, or even to just walk the grounds and look at all of the beautiful flowers and brick and stone structures!

Great history about Mayo. Definitely must see if you're interested in learning the history of Mayo Clinic.

They have an amazing botanical garden hidden in a lower level of the mansion. There was a wedding setting up Saturday so we didnt stay long but it was beautiful to walk through. Great views and they have tours of the House itself.

Went to an antique sale at the house for a local charity. Wide variety of items made for a fun shopping experience. The event was held in the house so had plenty of opportunity to explore inside the house and also walk the grounds. A lovely place to visit.

There was a children party there but we could admire the house from outside and enjoy the quietness of the garden which is some steps down the hill. I recomend spending some time in the garden especially that there are few visitor around....
