Of course most everyone knows this bookstore is owned by a famous person. If you don't know who that is, you will have to ask. This bookstore is great! It has that homey atmosphere, unpretentious, not fancy. This is an old building and the hardwood floors creak as you browse. You will find a wonderful variety of new books here,... More

Of course we went here because it is known as Garrison Keilor's bookstore. It's just a little bookstore. The selection is small but clearly intentional. I found some wonderful books there that I might not have noticed in a larger chain store. There are a lot of reviews by the workers. It's laidback and comfortable.

We visited the book shop before going to a Prairie Home Companion show At the Fitzgerald Theatre. The shop were set to host Billy Collins, the poet, after he performed at the show. Great book shop, great selection, and a great venue to promote the written and spoken word! This book shop is on my "list" to visit when I... More

This bookstore was on our "must see" list of Twin Cities bookstores. Every time we visit the cities we try to find a bookstore we haven't been to before. Very knowledgable staff who were helpful in suggestions. I like the hand-written suggestions by staff that were tucked into the bookshelves. This bookstore seemed very genuine and friendly. Nice bathrooms too...always... More

Garrison Keillor's bookstore is a great stop for any booklover. One of the best aspects of the shop is the staff reviews sprinkled throughout the store. Short reviews and recommendations from a great staff make choosing a book so much more fun. The selection is also impressive and a lot of work has clearly gone into it.

My relatives are devotees of Garrison and so we went to his old bookstore location in an incredible old building which was fun to expore. We found out he moved it to a new commercial space which has much more traffic and probably a better location close to a college, bakery, coffee shop and Jamba Juice. The inside has lots... More

New space on Snelling and Grand is great. Much bigger and brighter. Lots of events happening, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Bookstores are heaven. This ones is perfect. The staff can really help, too. I have read some really interesting books because the staff recommended them!

Common Good Books is "the perfect book shop". A wonderful selection of books, with a little Garrison Keillor thrown in (he owns the store). Wonderful personnel. The neighborhood has several nice shops and restaurants. An old town feel. Enjoy!
