There are many trailheads to start from. We chost one at Tettegouchie State Park. The trails are adequately marked and mostly moderate. The scenery and views are remakable. Be sure to take a trip to some of the out shoots from the trail for some...More

We hiked the northernmost section of SHT late September 2017. From the 270 degree overlook to Grand Marais, about 55 miles. Trails were pretty rough, tons of roots across them making foot placement critical. Many, many areas nothing but mud holes, mud sloshing over the...More

One of America's great hikes. Go from Duluth to Canada, or just a day section. We hiked Carleton Peak for great vistas of Lake Superior and fall color.

By now, we have ventured on a good portion of the Superior Hiking Trail and its spurs. Depending on when you get on the trail, it can be as comfortable as a paved bike trail or as challenging as a fairly steep hike to the...More

No reservations needed. Just grab your stuff and go, experience the freedom of the trail. You get a wide variety of experience within each section, from cliff overlooks to pine forests to marshy boardwalks. This is my escape from the city, and I love it...More
