I live just a mile from the quarries and it is one of my favorite local hiking destinations. The paths are plenty and the nature is beautiful in the park. It's a great place to walk a dog, ride a sport bike, snow shoe, cross...More

This place is wonderful for all ages and most activity levels - some areas would be a challenge in a wheelchair or with a stroller. I can't wait to go back again! It is about an hour drive for us and I totally do not...More

$5 parking and all day fun! The kids had fun jumping off the cliffs into the deep quarry. By around 2pm, it got pretty busy 100+ people. But it was a great atmosphere with music, hammocks hanging in trees, and tons of tubes in the...More

We have enjoyed hiking here and cross country skiing. The trails are well-maintained and wide. Nice oak woods with cool quarry ponds. The ponds are stocked with rainbow trout. There is a small rock climbing area, too.

We recently moved to town from the Northern Minnesota Backwoods and were missing the outdoors. While it wasn't the Chippawaa, the kids had a blast and enjoyed learning about granite mines.
