One of my favourite places to cycle. Well paved with bicycle paths and room for walkers and runners. Great spot for walking the dogs and can often go leash free with no issues of escape for our dogs. (One little one usually too distracted by people to stay with us- people here often not an issue). The gates here often... More

Great place to walk and ride. Only thing I don't like is the 'gates' when riding. Yes I know they are there to stop motorbikes entering but they really slow you down. Avoid it during wet weather as puddles and mud often around for several days.

Although I am not into birdwatching, I am familiar with the area and have watched as a brand new bird hide has been established, far outweighing the small boxes which were available previously. There are several varieties of birds to discover

Nature at its best. Lovely wildlife, bird life, and a new bike / pedestrian path to wander along. Love it.

These wetlands are about 30km from Melbourne to the southeast (but still within the sprawling suburbs.) At first glance they are unprepossessing, being merely a swampy area. However ornithologists regurlarly see between 50 and 70 species of bords, such as ibis, egrets, heron and shearwaters. There is a bird hide off Edithvale Road, Edithvale but it is only open for...
