Love coming every year for the blues festivals in Clarksdale but while Seafarer404 below may be right about the decaying towns, there is still an authenticity about the region. Skip the casinos but everything else has an authenticity and reality of people without the superficiality...More

Great -place to have some alone time and have some great food along the way. Lots of small little towns but friendly people. I would have liked to have been in the Delta during a blues festival. The museums that I stopped at had very...More

Recent trip down Great River Road, spending most of the time in Greenville. Definitely a little tattered and torn like much of the Delta - closed stores, some decrepit buildings. Reflection that there is little economic opportunity in the Delta - stretching from Memphis to...More

Believe it or not, there is enough to do that could warrant more than an entire week to see it all and that's just the Delta. Amazing culture history, interesting to drive around, great little museums off the beaten path, great little eateries and such...More

How to describe the Delta? It is different. The people are incredibly nice. Greenville has an amazing community theatre. Past show include Las Misrables, Shrek, The Little Mermaid, and Spamalot. Coming up are Memphis and Chicago (the musicals, not the cities). Mighty Mississippi Music Festival...More

The Mississippi Delta is one of my favorite places on earth--stunning natural landscapes, friendly people, and culture that just doesn't quit. It's hard to say what visitors should "do" when they visit the Delta: driving around, talking to people, and taking in the history and...More

Lots of areas to see all sorts of things. Not overly touristy so most anything you want to see you can.
