This was a nice little park which would be great for camping with cabins and RV spots, and if you're patient, you can see alligators there. That being said, don't go expect to "do stuff" there as there really aren't any walking trails or other activities to do.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way through Mississippi. It is very small and nothing special. There were a lot of people there for fishing; I suppose that is the draw. There is absolutely NO underbrush between sites. The campground is not private or scenic in one little bit. It is a wide open loop of... More

I went tent camping here to see the alligators at the lake, I have mixed feeling about this place! The place was really lovely and beautiful and we got to see some alligators in the day and the night. Unfortunately the tent area is absolutely rubbish, no grill and tucked away in a shady corner of the site. We also... More

OK, if you want a remote area that is quiet and you are not interested in swimming or activities for kids then this is the place for you. The park does have camp sites and cabins for rent but you have to make your own fun. The park is small but very quiet and for people seeking solitude this is... More

For clarification, I am only rating the campground as it relates to RV and Trailer camping. No consideration is given for other aspects of a campground/park, such as swimming pools, clubhouses, or activities such as fishing or canoeing. Also, many campgrounds may have RV/TT sites that vary in quality. My assessment is base on what I perceive as the best... More

OK, this was a detour from our chosen path but we read about Leroy Percy state park with the 94 degree hot springs and the platform for viewing the enclosed alligators. We visited, and the place was very nice - great for farmilies - and we climbed the viewing platforms and nothing...........when we looked closer, there was rubbish in the... More

I lived here in the early Fifties when my Daddy was Superintendent. Going back for the first time in more than 60 years was bittersweet. The pool is gone, as is the log home where we lived. The artesian well that was in our back yard is now a weed-choked, fenced slough. The old lodge, once the thriving center of... More

We stopped for the night at this state park and found it to be very nice. It's small and it seemed like there were several "fishing" people with their boats camping here. We were able to take a walk along the paved roads and we had water and electricity. What more do you need for an overnight with a trailer!?!... More

Leroy Percy State Park has been part of my life for many years. My teenage friends and I enjoyed events at the park in the 'fifties, my daughter and grandchildren loved the playground and the alligators, and now I get to visit each fall for my school reunion. The park offers a campground, rental cabins, fishing, the play area, educational... More
