We were headed home and stopped in Jackson to go to the zoo. It was great. Wonderful staff and amazing enclosures. It was a nice stop if you are in Jackson check it out.

Since I love zoos, the Jackson zoo is 3.5 out of 5 because of the necessary additions and updates that they need. However they have a few great parts, such as the tigers and some other different animals.

Thank you, Paul, for coming to see us! I can assure you that we are working every day on the upkeep on this nearly 100 year old property, and we have a Ten Year Plan approved last year that addresses almost 90% of the upgrades and additions we want to make to get our zoo from "good" to "great!" We... More

My daughter (17yr old)5 and I went on a weekday and we had so much fun. All the animals were active and up close for us to see. I've been to zoos all over the US. This little zoo is high on my favorites because of the animals.

I really enjoyed this zoo and going around it, I normally find zoos a bit depressing because the animals really don't look happy or healthy, and there are normally lots of people around but I went on a quiet sunday afternoon and it was almost empty except volunteers who were helping clean etc. The only reason I gave this zoo... Caroline, thank you so much for your visit! We do, indeed, have three Sumatran tigers that rotate in the public exhibit (the father, mother and baby each prefer to be on their own at this point, so they each have indoor/outdoor access behind the scenes). You are correct that most tigers like to pace, stalk, and generally act predatory, as... More

The staff was amazing. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and especially Sheeba. They were so friendly. Nice, clean peaceful zoo!

It's a small zoo but I have loved my zoo since I was a little girl and love that I can take my sons. While it is small, it could take you a couple of hours to see all the exhibits. And now the zoo has pokestops!

The Jackson zoo has done some major renovations in the last few years. There are many more exciting exhibits coming to the zoo. Just remember that they can't improve with out local and other tourism so spend you money on something that will be an investment in your child's future!

The zoo looked like a ghost town when I visited. I did go through the week, but it was still summer break here. There were very few visitors there, I also didn't hardly see any staff. The concession stand was closed. There weren't many exhibits either.

Venecia, so sorry to hear that you didn't have a favorable impression of our park. We have over 114 species here, in more than 50 exhibits of every size, and we are open from 9 am to 4 pm every day except December 25th. During summer weather in the southern states, it is not unusual to see mid-days being quiet... More

We thought the zoo was better than expected. It was a good size for Jackson. Many of the animals were not there but the ones that were there were very active and we had a good laugh. I actually seen a few animals I never heard of as well.
