Located in Leland Mississippi and near Hwy 61 this little museum was a nice place to visit. This museum is dedicated to Jim Henson who was the creator of the muppets. It's a small two room building with some original puppets, photos and lots of written information about Jim Henson's life. The other room has lots of muppet memorabilia and... More

This small but well done museum is located in Leland, Mississippi right on the bank of Deer Creek where Henson played and explored as a boy. It was here that he got the inspiration for the world's most famous frog. The docent was very knowledgeable and courteous and showed us, among other things some of Jim Henson's very first hand-made... More

This was a wonderful stop on our cross country trip. The docent was great and stayed a bit late to enjoy the exhibits. It is a small venue, but in a great spot on the creek. Would definitely recommend.

We visited this darling museum in Leland, Mississippi. (Very small and only takes a few minutes.) We read the history of Jim Henson and were quite intrigued with his history. Gigantic Kermit for photo-ops was too much fun. You should definitely visit this museum, and Mississippi's BBKing Museum (fabulous; stay several hours) and the Grammy Museum (only one of its... The exhibit is very small but life size Kermit selfie was cool. I enjoyed seeing the different puppets and the person manning the exhibit even showed me a Sesame Street book that a previous visitor had sent from another country where for some reason Big Bird is blue. I like geeky, kitschy factoids so seeing the beloved Big Bird in... More

Driving to go to dinner we passed through Leland and this exhibit caught our eye. A great tribute to Jim Henson and an enjoyable stop.

We loved this place. My kids talked about it for days after. It's very small. We were just passing through and it was a nice stop for us.

We stopped at the exhibit and were pleasantly surprised at all the information. The lady was extremely informative and helpful. She took our picture with Kermit. Learned new things about Kermit and Jim Henson.

Stop and see the birthplace of Kermit the Frog! Have your picture taken with him! Even buy a souvenir Kermit..or other Muppet....while you are there. This isn't a time intensive stop.....15 minutes in and out, or even less if you are on a tight time schedule. Don't we ALL fondly remember Kermit? Easy to find, easy to access, and the... More
