The Musuem is small but is very nice. The staff is there to answer any question. They have a nice selection of ranging from clothes to guns to newspaper clipping. If you are a Civil War buff you should enjoy. The musuem is free of charge.

One of the first land battles in a capsulized museum... a stop takes about one hour or less. Small inventory of artifacts.

While following Rte 66 we found the museum open and learned quite a bit about the Civil War in Missouri. The displays gave a good concise explanation of the several battles and the effects of the War on the area. The diorama was especially well done. Worth a trip if you are nearby.

We where just on a road trip and saw this museum. We stopped and it was a delightful surprise. The gentleman behind the counter was a fountain of information. He could answer all our questions and gave us info we didn't even ask about yet he wasn't a stalker that interrupted our conversation.

We love history and thought this museum might give us an insight to the history of the area. It is a small museum but has a great deal of items that are very informative. The gentleman at the desk was very good and gave us a very nice tour of the museum.

A lot of information packed into this small museum. Greeted nicely by a kind gentleman who had answers to many questions. Worth the time to learn about this town.

I knew next to nothing about Carthage's role in the Civil War. The museum's displays and a short video were quite informative.
