Roaring River State Park is a great destination for hikers, fishermen, campers, and families. I have hiked most of the trails in the park, and there is a trail for everyone. Young children might enjoy feeding the fish at the hatchery, visiting the nature center,...More

Non-fishing trip. Enjoyed the natural beauty and hiking trails. But most of these are moderate to intense hiking and not hard surface. The fish hatchery was gearing down for the end of season winter with many pens empty. The walk around hatchery and to the...More

We have been going to Rouring River for 8 years. We love it there. It's so beautiful. We enjoy WOW school the first weekend of October every year. I'm always sad to leave when the weekend is over!

The park is free and we took the kids fishing. We ended up with our sandwiches for lunch but don't think it wasn't fun!! Beautiful area.

The stream is so clear you can see them! Not sure that makes it easier though and there are a lot of people fishing. Tag to fish for 1 day is $10 and the limit is 4 per person.

This is a beautiful spot in SW Missouri where a spring feeds water from the mouth of a cave into a trout hatchery. The trout are raised there then distributed in local streams and rivers, including the river formed by the spring. This forms the...More

It's a great place to go especially with kids since they stock daily. It's not a challenge and it can be very crowded. Beautiful views and great camping for sure. Wonderful staff and clean grounds.

The fishing area at the top of the river has a series of small dams. You would not want to kayak this area and the fisherman would not be happy if you did so. Below the dams it should be fine.

I like Campground 2. Right on the water. Campground 3 also has a few spots close to the water. There is a map with pictures on the reservation site. As for the cabins I don't believe any are right on the water.
