We found this spring easily from a well marked sign at the main road. There is a small parking lot with a latrine type bathroom. It is a short hike (approx 0.5 miles) over unpaved but clearly a trail, route. Watch for roots rocks and uneven ground but should be pretty easy for most to hike. There was one small section that was wet and I had to jump a bit to get over it and avoid getting my shoes wet. The spring is beautiful!!! Very blue because it is so deep. The deepest spring in MO at 310 feet. The sign says the Statue of Liberty could fit in it and water would still cover her torch. We only saw three other people and two dogs on the trail so at this time of year it is very quiet.

I grew up in FL with access to many different springs. I have never seen anything like this. The blue you see in pictures is accurate. The hike to the spring is pretty easy and not too far from the parking area. The gravel road leading in has some steep points and rides a bit like a slalom course in spots. I second another reviewer who suggests 4x4 if possible. It’s about a 10 minute ride from 106. Strongly urge visitors to have bug spray on hand. It’s worth every bit of what it takes to get to the spring. I’m glad it’s being preserved and that it’s tucked away deep in the woods. Hopefully it remains unspoiled for generations to come.

This is a nice place for a nature trip. It's not easy to get to which has probably helped keep it pristine. The turn off is well marked on Hwy 106 and the road to the spring is gravel for all 2.5 miles. The road is fairly good and unless it's been especially rainy any regular car shouldn't have trouble getting there. At the parking area there are bathrooms and a picnic table or two. The half mile trail to spring is well marked and fairly flat except for a couple of places. You will be walking near the Current River then follow the outflow from the spring. There's a viewing platform at the spring with a few places you can walk to the water. Swimming, wading not allowed but our dog did appreciate getting a drink there. Behind the spring is a short, sometimes steep trail that takes you to another viewing platform although the trees up there obscured the view somewhat. There's nothing really to do here except view the spring or have a picnic. It was quiet while we visited and we had the place to ourselves

Roughly 200 yard trail walk back to the Blue Spring and worth every bit. WOW. WOW. WOW. So beautiful and impressive. I can't believe it's 310 ft deep!!!

We basically went to almost all of the springs in the same day. This one is pretty easy to get to. No "hiking" involved really. The water is such an amazing blue. There is a little overlook area that's pretty easy to get to as well.

Many people who live in Missouri don't know about Blue Spring (not to be confused with the city called Blue Springs - no where close).
First tip as you can read in other reviews - if there has been a recent heavy rain, don't bother. Not only does it make the gravel road a bit difficult, but the water loses it's unreal blue color and becomes a pretty, but fairly mundane, little stream.
We have driven the road in our sedan with no problem when it is dry.
It's difficult to take a good photo that captures how beautiful this place is. After you take a short, fairly easy hike (only a few big roots to step over, and a tiny stream to walk across) you reach a very quiet, unbelievably beautiful spot. If you are a reader, consider bringing a book and sit down to enjoy.

We have an SUV, and after a hard rain, we found the gravel road impassible. The part where it gets steep has huge ruts in it that made the bottom of our vehicle scrape pretty badly. We turned around, unfortunately and didn't make it to the spring. This road definitely needs maintenance.

Blue Spring is a must see for any Mark Twain National Forest visitor. At 351 feet deep this gorgeous wonder is an amazing meditative spot. A short walk from parking area...it is a wonder to behold.

it is a short drive on a country road to a parking area. The path is narrow and uneven back to the spring. But is worth the trip to see the clear blue water.

The road to the spring is rutted and difficult to go down and up so be prepared for that. Once you get to the spring it is a beautiful walk near the river until you get to the actual spring which is a beautiful blue. We laid out a blanket and had lunch.
Near other springs so it's a good stop to add to the trip.
There is a bathroom outhouse in the parking area.

There is a gravel bar across from the blue springs. Can you tell me if there is a way to rent one of the RVs that were sitting there
Written 6 August 2017
I suggest you look in the yellow pages for "motor homes rent" near your location. I tried it for Poplar Bluff, and I found a place in Sikeston, MO.

I don't think you are supposed to get in the spring, but I think wading in the stream that comes out of the spring would be ok. The current river is also right there, but I didn't see a good place to get in, the bank is pretty steep.
