fascinating bit of history - well presented and atmospheric . The house on the hill particularly, since it has a lot of the original furniture, and the staff are very helpful

The restored home was well filled with time appropriate furnishings and historic items unique to Grenfell himself. The museum was also well appointed. Grenfell and those who followed in his organisation had a significant part to play in the health and welfare of families associated...More

We visited the house and the interpretation centre. Grenfell was quite a personality, a visionary and an adventurer. Not all of his projects were well thought out (like introducing reindeer to the region), but his medical mission was inspiring. Some of the pictures of the...More

What a time, what a place, what a guy this Grenfell was. This is not an interactive place, not for children or short attention spans. If you're willing to read, however, you'll learn much about the history and culture of the region. The photos are...More

The items hung exposed to sunlight are damaging the exhibits. The young man on duty was very informative. Shame the doctors family isnt more involved in making sure this important piece of history is protected

We were totally captivated by the story of Dr Grenfell. How he left England to minister to the fishermen and their families in isolated Newfoundland and Labrador villages and then branched out into other social and educational ventures that impacted the lives of thousands. It...More
