I love the old bridge here at Richmond. Always get great photos, love wandering down the steep slope and along the banks of the river. The town is very picturesque, and some little shops showcasing local tassie artists, jewellery, ceramics, paintings, wooden crafts etc.

What a beautiful piece of history still standing. The water is clean and fresh. The sandstone bridgework absolutely stunning. Church in the background worth a visit also.

We took a detour on our way to Hobart for the weekend. We arrived at lunch time and sat on the hill enjoying the scenery and the history of the bridge. It is most certainly a stopping point for anyone travelling through.

Gorgeous to see such an old piece of engineering (1823) to still be in use today. Beautiful sandstone, river below and ducks to feed.

Lovely old bridge and great for photographs. If you go to the otherside of the bridge and move up the hill where the benches are, you can take a photo of the bridge with the church steeple in the background. The afternoon sun lights up...More

I honestly felt like I had stepped back in time and left Australia. It was so beautiful. I would have loved to learn more about the history of the bridge and town but there is always next time. So clean and such cute cafes around.

This excellent example of convict labour has been well maintained and carries traffic as well as being a valuable tourist feature. Bridge and surrounds very well presented for driving over and walking both over and under.

Of course, we all come to Richmond for the bridge. Built in 1823, the sandstone arch bridge is situated in a beautiful setting spanning across coal river. Best time to view is from 3pm onwards in autumn when the wanning sun casts it's golden light...More

Richmond is small and very quirky. Parking is not a problem as you can park anywhere in the main street or side streets and you are still right in the thick of the fun. The bridge is just out of town and an easy walk. If... More
