Went on tour of the mansion. Always wanted to go and went with group. Only viewed 5 rooms on the lower level. Rooms and décor was beautiful. All of the guides were wonderful and very informative.

Allow 30-40 minutes for a tour, Check the times tours are available online. Don't miss the opportunity to tour the garden and you can tour the State Capital, it is only a block away.

Plan in advance. The tour is of the first floor and shows many historic furnishings. This is definitely an important part of the Capitol and the history of Missouri. The outside has many interesting features and groomed landscaped grounds.

I noticed that one reviewer warned that you have to have reservations, which was true several years ago....but small groups are able to "just walk in" at this time.
