Everything is certainly up to date in Kansas City, and there are many places popular with visitors and locals. A rising star has to be the City Market, which has been at the heart of the renaissance north of I-70 near the Missouri River. We visited early in May, and the weather was glorious. We have a hunch that shopper... More

First tip is to show early for this experience. The parking is limited. We arrived before 9:00 a.m. and was able to find parking in the free lot. Second trip is to bring cash. Most vendors take cards but there are many who do not. This was our first visit. Not knowing what to expect, we enjoyed the various cultural... More

Stopped by for lunch. Did some shopping and the many stores and stands. There was live music. Lots of good smells in the air. They even had kids with wagons who would help you carry stuff to your car. ATM on site. The parking was free on 5th and Main. But quite busy, as you'd expect on a beautiful Saturday... More

WOW!!! A whole lot of fun for a small amount of money!! There are plenty of things to try and eat there. The smell of BBQ is all through the air. There are many vendors there selling everything from kettle corn to goat. This place is so fun I wish I had slotted more time for it. We did not... More

Great melting pot of different cuisines and fresh flowers and produce! Plenty of free parking nearby and tables to eat a snack.

Lots of restaurants and eating establishments surround the market. Not many local farmers in April but we bought four heirloom tomato plants and got a lot of advice from one farmer and his wife. Musicians and performers peppered the square. A flea market lined one side Nice way to enjoy a couple hours on a beautiful weekend

The City Market is a great place to spend a weekend morning. My family enjoys checking out the shops, and having a nice meal. We really like the spice market!

Loved this market! We were visiting friends who live downtown within walking distance of the River Market area. We walked down on Saturday morning and spent an hour or so wandering around the market and walking to the river. I loved all the different local vendors, the different ethnic restaurants, the variety of products that could be purchased. Such a... More
