I love unique experiences and the history behind the steamboats was very interesting to me. Glad they kept what they found and created a museum instead of selling off all the items. Well worth a visit.

Make time to visit this attraction! The guide is knowledgeable and helpful, and the story is fascinating. In addition, the museum of artifacts brought up from the steamboat thus far will astound you. This is the most meticulously arranged and interesting museum I have visited...More

We were skeptical about this museum and passed it up for years. What s mistake! Amazing what private people can do to pull together a top quality museum of almost Smithsonian quality. A good look into local history.

The museum is vey nice, informative and the displays are very interesting. The only down side, is getting here and parking. This museum is right next to the Saturday Farmers Market, and I recommend that you see the market if you want fresh vegetables.

This is on the same grounds as this city market. It is the artifacts of the wrecked Steamboat Arabia which were dug up and have been cleaned and displayed in this museum. The same family is also working toward having artifacts of the also wrecked...More

Family just visited the museum a month ago. I have lived in KC all my life and can honestly say I have not visited this museum until now. I should have visited a long time ago. So many artifacts came from this steamboat here in...More

This museum was really interesting. Amazing time capsule of the late 1880's. I am interested in antiques and there were plenty to see. Hard to believe that a sunken steamboat from 1887 would be found in the middle of a cornfield and all the freight...More

Is a neat place to visit if you enjoy museum type of things. Have to stop and look and read things. Large collection of relatively mundane, everyday items that were being shipped at the time. Easily completed in 2-3 hours.

I would highly recommend a visit to Arabia Steamboat Museum. A fascinating glimpse into pre-civil war society as well as a wonderful tale of its retrieval. I would allow 1 1/2-2 hours to see. Younger children might not enjoy. My teenager was minimally amused but...More

Thanks for asking. It is true that the admission cost for seniors is $13.50. Officially, we recommend about 90 minutes to do the whole tour, but as NOELKAT9791 pointed out, many folks can spend several hours. There's a... More
