Kansas City Shakespeare Company did a tremendous performance of Much Ado About Nothing. I highly recommend watching it. Just grab a blanket or some deck chairs, drive south from downtown for about 3 miles to watch this show. It is free, donations accepted. Or you...More

We saw the Much Ado About Nothing performance, it was wonderful, the interpretation by the performers was humorous and appropriate. A wonderful setting in the park, with food trucks to grab dinner (the Laotian food was delightful) and you can even find a table with...More

Wonderful way to expose children to the bard! Acting is fantastic, costuming is stunning, and the best part—it’s free! But bring some cash and make a donation at the door. Eats are available—great food truck with Philippine cuisine! Very tasty! Tricky to find the entrance....More

The Heart of America Shakespeare festival should not be missed. Their performance of Hamlet during Summer 2017 was great! I loved the pre-performance talk and the student parody of the play. My daughter was an intern there and learned so much.

Even people who believe they would never be interested in Shakespeare will have a great time. No matter if the production is a comedy or tragedy, there will be something that ropes you in to the story. And even if you have never experienced the...More

The show (King Lear) was a good production. The set was relatively elaborate for an outside (park) production, with great effects & sound. The actors were good - lots of feeling and emotion and they knew what they were doing. There were several choices of...More
