Getting there a day ahead of planned kayaking, my friend and I looked to local museums and attractions. We laughed at the thought of a Vacuum Cleaner Museum, thought we would take a picture and be on our way. As we entered, we were met by Tom, he is very knowledgeable and entertaining. We totally enjoyed going through the different... More

We saw signs on the highway and decided to give it a shot. The museum was small, but full of fun trivia and vacuums from the 1920s to present. The walls were full of old advertisements of the time, which were a lot of fun to read through! The man working there was very knowledgable and could answer almost every... More

Had heard about this on our local public radio station, so we decided to check it out. It was a stroll down memory lane! In addition to the amazing collection of vacuum cleaners, organized by decades, each area had other artifacts from that decade, and interesting facts displayed for easy reading. (Did you know R2D2 was inspired by a canister... More

We were on our way down I-44 to Joplin when we saw the billboards for the Vacuum Museum and we knew we had to stop! We are so glad we did! This place was amazing - and the fellow who oversees it was a wealth of knowledge. If he doesn't know something about a vacuum, or the history behind it,... More

Completely unexpected. By the name, it sounds a little silly. A vacuum cleaner museum? Really? Boring. WRONG. By far the BEST, absolutely BEST, museum tour I have ever been on. I drug my boyfriend along and when the staff offered a tour he was not pleased. Boy, did that change by the end of the tour. Michael was absolutely brilliant.... More

My husband and I realized that we threw out many of these vacs when cleaning out his mother's house as she was preparing to down size. But the diversion gave us a chuckle.

The factory has done an excellant job of displaying the various era's of the vacuum cleaner. As you walk in, you'll walk thru several little rooms, each very tastefully decorated with a different time frame to show and explain the evolution of the current day vacuum. Very, very nice displays and free too!

Who would've thought that a museum about vacuums could be so absolutely entertaining? We were greeted by Tom and lead on amazing tour by Michael. There was an amazing amount of history and skill and knowledge present here. Plus it is a great place to buy a vacuum. Totally recommend!
