Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

We ended our out west trip with a day at the city museum. Kids ranging from 10-17 and they proclaim that this place rocks. For the adults it could be a tad boring if you are afraid of heights or you are larger. The building...More

We had a great time on our 1st visit here. The caves are very hard to maneuver for adults and they don't tell you that children need flashlights to get through them. We did however enjoy the rest of the museum.

Whenever in town, we find time to hit the City Museum for at least a few hours. Both kids and adults will have fun playing and climbing. We had not been here in a couple of years and were surprised by some of the new...More

We LOVE this place. So creative and innovative. Great for tween children. You could be there for days and not take in every detail or see every nook and cranny. It is a first class lesson in up cycling. Incredible use of space and creativity....More

We went to City Museum on a recent visit to St. Louis based on friends' recommendations. We certainly weren't prepared for the mind-blowing, physically (at times) challenging, un-museumish atmosphere based on the name and the one YouTube video we checked out. City Museum is unlike...More

This place was built for kids and adults to have a great time. Eclectic, imaginative, hands on place to spend a lot of time at. So many things to do to wear out the kids and adults. Had to practically drag the kids out of...More

This place is fun for adults and children. However, be careful if you're an adult that's bigger than the average height or weight. Some of the structures have very narrow spaces that little kids can crawl or squeeze through, but it's pretty easy for an...More

I read a review that stated there were a lot of obstacles that adults could not fit in and they lost their small child for a while due to this.....is this still an issue? Nervous mommy of a 4 year old!

There are allot of obsticles for kids. Some are tight however my 12year old did all of them as well as my 11year old and 6 year old. I did have to keep a close eye on were they traveled to.
