I took about 30 minutes to meander outside and inside of this Basillica - what a beautiful church. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Amazing windows and ceiling work. Take your time and soak in the craftsmanship.

Hard to describe but I would put this on a must see Cathedral Basilica. Arrange a guided tour if possible, we did not and I'm sure we did not grasp the meaning of mosaics. Look for the visitor guide leaflet if you are doing a...More

Worth a trip to view the interior of this beautiful cathedral. There are several domes and half domes with gorgeous paintings and sculptures and over 40 million pieces of glass in all the mosaics.

Not only the basilica, but also the neighborhood is also worth the visit. The biggest surface of mosaics in the world, and seems to be also an active community.

Visited the basilica to see the beautiful inside. Really hard to imagine how long it took to do all the mosaic tile. Very quiet and peaceful.

It gets harder to find attractions for seniors but this is definitely one older travelers will enjoy and very accessible, even younger travelers will find the mosaics an unbelievable sight to see.

Amazing mosaics throughout. Very interesting museum at a lower level that details the history of the mosaics and the father/son team that dedicated their lives to its beauty and stories. That there is a cathedral basilica in St. Louis, MO is almost a best-kept secret.
