I always drove by this church and wondered what the inside is like. I actually didn't know you could just walk in and tour it. We stopped to take pictures and then followed someone inside when she went in. You are free to walk around as long as there is no mass happening. It was breathtakingly beautiful. There's also a... This beautiful Catholic Church is a must see. It is remarkable. Words cannot describe the detail and man hours that went into this beautiful church. One will me amazed at the beauty that it possesses. There is also a quaint little gift shop if you want to purchase a keepsake.

I have never been to Europe but this is what I imagine the churches to look like (only older). Both inside and outside are beautiful. So many nooks to peer into and so much artwork to enjoy. You can take a guided tour, which lasts about an hour or just look around yourself. I would definitely recommend it whether you... More

This surprised me with its beauty. Even if you do not have much time, stop by quick to see the inside.

The way this building was put together is great. If you are catholic, it's a must see. The sound and beauty is enough to relax your mind. The mosaic art work is amazing, must see to believe.

Stopped here for a short visit with my brother & his wife. Had a chance to see the basilica. Quite a nice church. Ceiling is made up of gold. Had a prayer here. I think it was worth it!

This cathedral has to be the largest mosaic collection in the world. Every interior surface is covered in artworks by different designers/artists spanning over 80 years. Absolutely beautiful.

Wow! What an amazing Cathedral. Just simply gorgeous. I was blessed to go to Mass on the day I visited. I just felt so at peace and awe seeing such a beautiful Cathedral Basilica. The locals should feel so blessed to have such an amazing place to worship.

Amazing Cathedral that is like a piece of art. It's clear why the Pope named this magnificent place a Basilica. Take a look and enjoy the regal beauty.

A 500,000 square foot church with more mosaic art than you've ever seen on US soil. Silence your cell phone, grab your camera, take off your hat, and go. Refer to their website for a schedule of mass times in order to go during or between a service. Free street parking nearby.
