Probably the best place for visitors to St. Louis. Adjacent to the huge Forest Park and in the middle of great restaurant, shopping, antique shop, etc. area. There are a lot of hotels from the iconic Chase to modern Hyatt, Marriott, etc. Area has pretty...More

The Good: Fantastic restaurants (Wild Flower, The Tenderloin Room), great bars (Llewelyn's Tom's, Sub Zero Vodka Bar), amazing cultural sites in Forest Park, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, antique shops, Left Bank Books...a terrific neighborhood. Very unique and very diverse. Most everything is within...More

This was a super cute section of town. Found this too late to investigate the whole area, but had a very nice meal at one of the restaurants and enjoyed browsing a couple of the stores. We already decided next time we visit St Louis...More

This is the place to be if you love shopping and restaurants. Plenty of small boutiques and antique shops as well as restaurants and coffee shops. The Basilica is located in this neighborhood (another MUST SEE)

We walked around the neighborhood and window shopped. We went in Golden Grocer, which is a wonderful health food store that has been there for 30 years or more. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

One of the first neighborhoods we explored after we moved to St. Louis was the Central West End. It was late summer, and the array of shops, restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and bars was great. There were lots of people strolling around, and it reminded me...More

This is a cute little area of St. Louis with shops, restaurants, and bars, bordering one of the greatest parks in the country, Forest Park. There's a Metrolink station nearby to go to the airport or downtown. It's a terrific alternative to staying downtown.
