Description:

The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis presents, supports, and celebrates...

The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis presents, supports, and celebrates the art of our time. CAM is located in the heart of St. Louis-the Grand Center arts district. Admission to the Museum is free. As a non-collecting institution, CAM presents more than twenty exhibitions each year featuring emerging and established artists from around the region, country, and globe. We showcase art in a full range of media-from painting, drawing, and sculpture to the conceptual, performative, and interactive-filling our museum, both inside and out, in unexpected ways. Each exhibition season offers an entirely new experience.

Regardless of the works exhibited at any given time, the Contemporary is a fabulous gallery space well worth the time to visit. Plus, it's free. Combine your visit to the Contemporary with one of more of the many other attractions in the Grand Center neighborhood.

This museum doesn't have a holding of art. Instead it presents work by important and emerging artists. The quality and presentation of their exhibitions, and of the artists that they present is very impressive.

The museum had several different artists' works on display. It was a nice sampler of what is currently being produced in the art world. And the Serra piece in the court yard is playful fun.

This museum offers opportunities for developing artistic outlets. It is located in a modern open space where the venue changes frequently. Although I would not return I would recommend it to people who are interested in interactive art forms.

I was not a big fan of contemporary art but this museum is changing my viewpoint. Rotating exhibits offer many opportunities to see something new and interesting, and even if you don't like it, it's interesting. Free admission to boot so you can't beat it. Great any day, but a nice way to spend a few hours on a rainy/cold... More

Contemporary art is not always 'my thing' but I am open minded and always willing to listen and learn. This space is fantastic and the curator brings in the best of the 'new'. It is inspiring if you allow it to be.

If this place hadn't been free admission when we went, I would have been disappointed by the size. We were staying at the Grand Center Inn a block away, so we decided to walk over to the Contemporary Art Museum. I tend to have difficulties understanding what many modern artists are trying to convey to the viewer. I prefer highly... More

I brought a group of high school seniors to St. Louis and we wanted to check out some art. I even called ahead to make sure the museum was open on the day we were looking at. When we showed up (after riding the metro for an hour and spending $54), we were informed that there was a special event... More

I did not see anything that looked like that picture above, so I wonder if that is a different place. But I did enjoy my visit. They have extended hours on Fridays, and we went about 7pm. We were the only ones there! There were only 3 exhibits, but there were very worthwhile. We went through the whole place in... More
