Take a ride on replica 19th-century paddle-wheel boats, Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher, located on the riverfront below the south leg of the Gateway Arch. While cruising down the Mississippi, enjoy cruise narration which offers a historical overview of the area and the role this working river still plays today. Advanced ticket purchase recommended. Daily sightseeing cruises, dinner cruises, specialty cruises, and private events available. Open March - November.

My wife and I took this trip during a recent cross US road-trip. I only really did it so that I've been for a ride on the Mississippi, and that's probably why you should too. The boat heads upstream for half an hour, then comes...More

Off all of the tourist attractions we experienced in the US for 3 weeks of travel this was perhaps the least impressive. The queue for the boat was huge, when you got onboard, the chairs where like outdoor furniture on the deck and many people...More

The boat ride itself was nothing too special, and the view of St. Louis was also not as outstanding as one would hope. However, my family and I did enjoy the part where a historian explained some of St. Louis' past. Unfortunately, not exactly worth...More

We took the ride on the boat with another couple. We did it so we could honestly say we did. St. Louis is a rundown dump regardless if you see it from the streets or off the Mississippi. Run down old factories and rotting rail...More

We were lucky in that the boat was not super packed. We sat on the side in the shade and it was a good view. The talk was pretty decent, nothing spectacular. We were sitting near a speaker so we heard it clearly. I suggest...More

Went on the tour while visiting St Louis for the eclipse. It was very hot, so that made the ride uncomfortable, but the tour was very average. There really is not much to see--nice views of the arch, but little else. I'd skip it.

Did the cruise on 8/19 at 10:30am. Got there just in time and the captain waited for us to board. Many people onboard but still many seats open and able to move around without a problem. The descriptions given by the guide was easily heard...More

$20 a person to look at mud and graffiti. The highlight of the ride was the Arch, we could have stayed on land for free and looked at it. There was absolutely NOTHING to see on this ride. The boat went so slow, there was...More

Great question! If you sit on the West side of the boat (the side facing the Arch) while the boat is docked you will see the Missouri side of the river as the narrator speaks and will see the Illinois side on the way back... More
