this is an excellent and huge park for families, runners, kids and people who like to walk, with a lake, paths, great maintenance, a zoo and tons of activities for everyone. It is also next to the St. Louis Art Museum, and has a great restaurant on the lake, called the Boathouse.

The museum I was planning on was closed so I stop there for ideas and they were happy to help me figure out something else to do and then they told me about an hidden gem of an accessible playground just to the side of the visitor center.

Forest Park is one of the most wonderful spots in St Louis. Besides being the residence of the Art and History Museums, the St Louis Zoo, the Science Center, the Muny (10,000 seats, over 1,000 free, summer outdoor musical theater), pretty gardens, golf courses, various sports fields, an ice rink, Shakespeare Glen (lively shows of the Bard every June), and... There are tons of awesome things about Forest Park. Plenty of notable attractions such as Art Hill, the planetarium, the zoo, the Art Museum, several restaurants, etc. However, one of the best things about Forest Park is all the wide open space to wander around in. Kick back against a tree and read a book, go for a run/bike ride,... More

Forest Park is the best city park in the country and it's filled with free and inexpensive attractions. It is home to the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri History Museum, Art Museum, St. Louis Science Center, Jewel Box, The Muny, a golf course, tennis and handball courts, bicycle and walking trails, some restaurants, and much more. Hardly a week goes by... More

World class park in St. Louis. Though I don't live in St. Louis, I run in this park every time I visit. The restaurant near the boat lake is great. My family loves the Shakespeare in the Park. I've been to the museums in the park, world class. I've never used the golf course but it's there.

Lots of things going on here. Archery field, St Louis Zoo is here. The planetarium is here walking trails. Site of The World Fair in the early 1900's. Really nice area. It was cold and a little snowy we I was here. Would like to come back when the weather is warmer.

I have been to many parks including Central Park in Manhattan but Forest Park beats them hands down. This park has everything from biking, running, free zoo, museums and a lot more. Even when it's crowded it's not really crowded you can always find a quiet spot.

Where do I begin? There is always something to do in Forest Park. I could list some of the wonderful attractions. The St. Louis Zoo, ranked #1 in the nation and it's free! If you have kids, buy tickets for the train. The Muny Opera has been hosting outdoor theater for over 100 years, and there are even free seats!... More
