The museum is spotlessly clean and gorgeous on the grounds and inside. We visited on Saturday and enjoyed strolling through all the galleries featuring the works of Rembrandt, Picasso, Andy Warhol, as well as several pieces of art done by local artisans in the St. Louis area. The facility is handicapped friendly and child friendly and a nice way to... More

I have visited here many times but took our 10 yr old granddaughter this time. We thought she would whiz through in 30 min. but we stayed over 2 hrs. This is a wonderful place to introduce a variety of styles to a young person. They even had a table with a paper for a children's scavenger hunt which she... More

Perfect snowy day activity with visiting teen-aged grandchildren. Membership allowed us to visit the special exhibit for free and to stroll through a number of other galleries. We had a good discussion after visiting several galleries, including the contemporary collection: Is it art? Always interesting to talk about what we are looking at and how it fits into our cultural... More

As a lifelong native of STL, I have loved this place since I was young. It was not until I traveled that I realized what a true treasure we have. It's huge and gorgeous and free...yes, free. There is a charge for some special exhibits, but they are even free on Fridays. Very family friendly- ask about free family events... More

The Museum was built as part of the Saint Louis Worlds Fair, and there is an interesting exhibit about that event. There was also an interesting exhibit on Route 66. It is very family friendly. That having been said, it seemed more about history than art.

The St. Louis Art Museum is a popular destination. The new addition is well done but did eliminate most convenient parking there. Best to become a member and use the garage. Lots of excellent works of art and many thought provoking shows. Good balance of periods and styles.

St. Louis's wealth and importance is reflected in this gallery. Two beautiful buildings, one reflecting the cities amazing past as a hub of commerce, the other an example of its new and progressive nature, hold a vast and varied treasure trove of art spanning millennia. You will see pieces that will take your breath away. Works that make you wonder,... More

Beautiful building. Lots of walking involved, so wear comfortable shoes. Fascinating artifacts and artwork. View from the front patio is amazing, especially in the fall. Plenty of courteous staff to help direct you. Cafe food was excellent and reasonably priced.
