We enjoyed the permanent displays a lot. While there they had a Degas exhibit as well. Lots of rooms to wander through and lots of space to see it all even if it is a little crowded. Parking could be a challenge.

No admission, except for special exhibits. Very lovely grounds surrounding the museum, definitely go more than once, so much to see!

This was our first visit and we were so impressed. There were 3 floors but we only got to see 2 of them. All the greats were represented: Van gogh, Mondrian, Matisse, Monet, and more! My husband enjoyed the ancient art, especially the sculptures.

Always enjoy my museum visits. Like the impressionists best. There is a painting of Central Park where a woman and child are approaching the park in the rain at turn of nineteenth century.

This museum is beautiful. I really love the European collection on the level where you walk in, they have many excellent artists on display.

If you like expressionism, you will definitely like The STL Art Museum (SLAM). THey have arguably the best German expressionistic collection in teh US!.

The art-museum game is daunting to all institutions today. Specialist curators, executives and development staff spinning the mission for funding and an invariably cynical nod to diverse communities, educators struggling for more than token commitment, lazy crowds with little interest in the art beyond the easiest fare and a feel-good experience, art lovers with some knowledge bemoaning so much space... Important permanent collections and impressive special exhibitions Always FREE to all. They charge for exhibitions except on Friday. Nice cafeteria-style lunch place and great shop. Restaurant on main floor has great views of the park but is a bit pricey. Fabulous mummies and Egyptian collections for kids and adults.
