Therd are only two drive-thru caverns in the world, and only one in the United States. This attraction is PERFECT for families with small children or individuals with mobility issues. The tour is given by riding on a flatbed with bench seats. This gives everyone the ability to see and hear everything well. The caverns are beautiful, and seeing them this way is a unique and fun experience. HINT: Heavy rains can flood the caverns and stop the tours. If it's raining while you are in the area, call ahead to confirm tours are operational.

My sister Laura and I stopped here on the way to Branson and were so glad we did! Our guide Larry was amiable, professional and knowledgeable…he made learning fun. He told us about the discovery of the cavern, the history and even showed the various lighting utilized over the years for exploration and tours. I have been to a few caverns over the years but this was my first drive through one, especially good for those with mobility issues. If in the area I highly recommend and be sure to ask for Larry.

Took my 5 year old daughter. She wanted a daddy daughter day and this was our last stop. If you want to hang with dad you might do some dad stuff. We walk in and she immediately heads to the gift shop. I might have told her there would be stuffed animals. There are NO stuffed animals in the gift shop. 😕 The good news is they have some cheap jewelry with colorful stones. So she gave me a pass on the no stuffed animals. Bough my ticket. $30 per adult and kids under 6 are free. They tell you where to wait and when the next tour will start. We had a 20 min wait. The guide comes up the ramp and lets everyone it’s time to head to the tram. The tram is bench seating. One bench running the length of the tram on each side with the middle being open. The jeep also has seats for 4 people. We head into the cave and Kevin our tour guide is speaking loud enough so we can hear him, but is also making some jokes and making it a good time. The cave is bigger than I expected. Kevin tells us about how stuff in the cave is formed. My kid is eating it all up. She’s laughing at his jokes. Answering his questions. You go to the back of the cave and watch a video. You make your way back to the mouth of the cave all the while Kevin is stopping here and there to tell us about the history of the cave. It was very interesting for both me and my kid. We come out of the cave and Kevin says we got a picture of everyone in the cave and they are FREE! He passes them out to everyone. They have some trails you can walk and some other things outside you do. All in all I loved it. My 5 year loved it. She told anyone she saw all about the cave. The first explorers in the cave were all women. That did not go unnoticed by my little girl. The part of the cave you tour is only the top part of the cave. The bottom part of the cave where all the critters are is off limits due to how hard it is to get to and a couple of the critters are endangered. So don’t show up thinking it’s a cave safari. You get to see cool cave formations and learn about the history of the cave. The keep is powered by clean burning propane. I did not notice any fumes or smells from the jeep. I had fun with my kid. Simple as that.

Our grandchildren are ages 13, two 10 year olds and a 6 year old. For Christmas 2022, we decided to give them and their parents the gift of family time. They don’t need anything so we decided as part of their Christmas we would go to Springfield and tour Fantastic Caverns.
We made it into a day trip. We were so pleased with our tour guide, Fred. He went out of his way to make our trip enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the beautiful cave but he added laughter to it too.
The kids loved the gift shop and we all had an extremely great time. Made great memories. I would highly recommend it to someone who hasn’t visited it before. Being able to ride through it was a major plus since my husband is scheduled for a knee replacement next month.

Wondering if there is a weight or height limit to passengers? My boyfriend is a pretty big dude and we just want to make he’ll be comfortable.

Agree with above - when the low-ceiling areas come up within the tour, they'll definitely guide you to duck down. They're all about safety so you should have no problems.
Are there any coupons for fantastic caverns

I am not sure about coupons.... you may want to look in the local guide and what to do magazines in the area....

I noticed the website says masks are “appropriate” but did not say they were required. Are the employees wearing masks? Do they ask visitors to wear them and do the visitors generally comply?

Employees wear masks, as do most visitors.
Are there any coupons for the ride

Not that I was aware of but that doesn’t mean there are not any. There was a seniors discount and that was all I saw

I believe it is $26 for an adult $17 for children (6-12) children 5 and under are free. They do not give any discounts or take any coupons. You can also check out the website to see pictures and get more info on the caverns.
How is the parking? We are trailering our boat and concerned about parking.

No, they do not. My husband and I both felt seeing the caverns was worth the price of admission.
Can I buy tickets in advance

I’m pretty sure, you might find it on their website
