We have season passes to the zoo. My nearly 3 year old granddaughter sees something new with each visit. She has had some health issues and so we have never stayed and went through the entire zoo exhibits in one trip. She lives the mini trips and the playground area. The giraffes are her favorite. Just remember to have a... More

If you have a loved one in a wheelchair, be aware there will be a lot of hills and a few awkward spots where a wheelchair user cannot see the animals.

This is a great zoo and a great place to take your family and friends. I love going here to take pictures of the animals. Animals seem happy and have nice enclosures. I go here a lot and I never see the enclosures dirty. They have a petting zoo, free hand sanitizing stations, water fountains to refill water bottles and... More

It is a big zoo for a smaller town. Most stuff is easy to get to good trails and really clean compared to some zoo's. If you live around here go to this one don't drive 4 hours to another one unless it is a over night trip.

We visited this zoo on a chilly week day, highs in the low 40's, and it had recently snowed so we practically had the entire zoo to ourselves. I think we saw 4 people other than staff there. If you don't mind being out in some cool weather, which we don't, it's a great time to go because it seems... More

Thanks for sharing about your snow day and glad you enjoyed your visit. You caught on to something many miss: cooler weather and snow days are often the best time. The animals love playing in the snow. Dickerson Park Zoo is open year-round, weather permitting. If the snow or ice covers guest paths, we do close. Glad you got to... More

We came her with my 2 year old niece and had a great time walking around and enjoying the animals for a couple hours. There is nothing super impressive about this zoo, but it is a great attraction for a town this size. We especially enjoyed feeding the giraffes!

Springfield has a nice little zoo, they are doing some upgrades. It fun for the little kids. Teens would be bored pretty quickly.

This seemed like it could be a very fun zoo but in December, most of the exhibits like the petting zoo are closed. For as little as we saw, they could have charged half. We did see a cheetah though; that was a first for us.

My two year old son has a great time here. I love it because it isn't huge, so its a great place to take younger children. He loved seeing the giraffes.
