It was a decent children's museum. I'm a little confused by the user submitted photos because there are so many pics of exhibits that were not there anymore. It wasn't a bad experience, but we were done in like an hour. And I'm positive we were in the right place. They just didn't have all of those exhibits anymore.

This was a fun place. They had a few exhibits that were unique that I haven’t seen at other children’s museums. The staff was all very friendly!

For two adults, 7 year old and 3 year old it was $40. We spent a couple hours there.

I was disappointed that a lot of activities were closed or missing pieces. Some of it may be due to Covid, however, some was just because it was broken. I would have been satisfied if I knew this up front and was offered a discount. I don’t think you should pay full price when chromosome lab, art, mini putt putt are all closed. The third floor had several sections closed…the big nose had nothing there to smell. There were several other things as well. So, keep that in mind before you go so you are not disappointed.

Lots of variety. VERY interactive. Very relevant and educational in a way that will stick with kids to reinforce what they learn in school.

This is truly a museum that is great for adults, teens and preschool kiddos. The exhibits are presented in a way that’s engaging for ANY age. That is a huge plus for families. I was worried that my tweens and teen would be bored but that wasn’t an issue at all. In fact, the opposite happened & I had to drag them away from activities to move onto the next one.

Lots of energy and biology exhibits. There is A LOT to explore and learn here, and it really was fun. The kids don’t just sit there and look at something...they actually make things happen with the exhibits.

Some exhibits require an employee to help operate, but we didn’t have a problem finding help.

We encountered many exhibits that we haven’t ever seen at other museums, so that was a treat.

Except for the hissing cockroach my children “got to pet”. ..that was uncomfortable for me to witness. The hand sanitizer dispenser that was nearest to the cockroaches was empty, and that was as an uncomfortable situation also.

The exhibits are a bit dated, but Still highly relevant and interesting. Also, I don’t know how often museums can replace things like a real human skeleton & a real human brain, so if those have been there on display for 30 years, let it be!

We were limited on time which was a bummer because the kids wanted to spend a lot more time experiencing some of the exhibits. I thought my kids would enjoy the Minecraft exhibit, but I just couldn’t figure out the educational value. After watching other kids rearrange some boxes, I told them I didn’t want to waste time on something they were already familiar with. They agreed with that assessment, so in the interest of time, we didn’t actually move any of the boxes around.

We really did enjoy it though. It was interactive and not boring.

What a great place! This is an interactive “museum” that adults and children of all ages will enjoy. (Of course the teens probably won’t want to let on that they’re having a good time. 😊) there are some areas geared for small children, some more advanced for young teens and a lot to be enjoyed by school aged children. Well worth the small entrance fee ($12 adult). I stumbled upon this and had a very enjoyable afternoon!

We have been coming here since our kids were little kids and as they've grown, different areas of the Discovery Center have attracted them. What we did last time was extract our DNA at the hands-on lab. It is pricey though.

Hands on science experiments are great for kids! Most of the areas are dated and equipment needs to be replaced or repaired. This place was great for several years but now it is below those standards. They do give a few tickets away at the Greene County Library locations. Otherwise, it would not be worth the admission! I guess funding is the problem! They may need to have some events to acquire more funds to basic maintenance and upgrades. It is hard to compete with other privately owned facilities though!

After visiting the Discovery Center a few times, my family became members. It's only been a few months but we have definitely gotten our money's worth out of the membership!

I started bringing my son here when he was just over a year old and had only been in the 5 and under room, which itself is great - lots of things for little hands and minds to play with that are simple and fun, but still great to help them learn! One of the things that I think is stellar about this place is how the exhibits are all-ages appropriate: he might just be having fun pressing the buttons and making things float or move or light up, but as he gets older, he'll learn the science behind it all. So the Discovery Center is genuinely great for kids of all ages.

It also packs a LOT of punch for such a small space! To look at the building, you wouldn't think there would be much in it. However, we've been coming here for a year and a half, visiting a couple dozen times at least, and are STILL finding areas that we didn't know were there - even though we've been coming almost weekly for a class this summer, just this past week, we came across part of the Center that I hadn't seen before! There is always something new to discover here!

On top of that, there are improvements and changes being made frequently so that you can't really get bored with going there. Everything is interactive and hands-on, and there are even some areas where you can do lab experiments with staff! And speaking of the staff, they are all amazing! I've had several interactions where the staff member or a volunteer go out of their way to try and make sure we get the most out of our visit.

On top of that, there are great events! The whole family enjoyed Bubblefest a few weeks ago, and the class we have been going to, which is free with our membership, is a class that uses music to teach young kids about nature and science.

I can't sing the praises of this place high enough! So I will just end this review by relating this:
My little guy is about two and a half and while he speaks plenty, he doesn't use very many full sentences. One that he has mastered, though, is this: "I love Discovery Center!"

We took my nephew and his wife & toddlers, his brother & his mom. Everyone enjoyed experiencing & learning from the many exhibits. It's also great that they age-grade the 2 areas to help steer young ones to appropriate and fun learning activities. It was a BIG hit with everyone and we'll go again!
