Cuivre River State Park is a bit of the Ozarks outside of the Ozarks – a nature lovers paradise just a short drive from St. Louis that is vibrant with colors three seasons of the year. The park’s renowned trails take visitors through prairies and forests of oaks and hickories. The park’s three natural areas feature sinkhole ponds and woodlands that would be more at home in southern Missouri. The park has hiking and equestrian trails, modern campsites, group camps, picnic areas and a lake so everyone can enjoy one of Missouri’s most rugged and beautiful jewels.

Park is not that busy and is a good place to relax. There is a Gulf filling station not too far from the park entrance which has a convenience store and a repair shop attached where one can get supplies. Owners are very frinedly and just plain good people.

This state park is an excellent getaway for the day or to stay for a few nights. There is hiking, fishing, camping and many areas to explore. It is also close to St. Louis but still feels like a forest too.

Been coming here many years. Full RV hookups, massive camping area for the tenters, full hookups on the RV side. Its close enough to Troy and shopping if you forget something you can still get it very safe and secure environment patrolled regularly by state Rangers good value for the money
