1790s Historically restored and authentically antique-furnished French and Indian trading post with several associated historic buildings and period gardens. This historic property overlooks the Missouri River from a high south bluff of that river which is 30 miles west of St. Louis, MO. professional tours of 1 and 1/12 hours are given by appointment only throughout the year for a voluntary donation.

We visited by ourselves and couldn't figure out which sites were included in the attraction and which sites were private property. We felt like we were trespassing. Of course, it would help a lot of the private properties were more prominently marked. Would help if...More

Fort Charrette is a great site to see with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is a great place to take your kids and show them a bit of history while also enjoying the incredible views from the property.
